Wome wants to play behind the striker

Cape Town - SuperSport United player Dove Wome said that he hopes Gordon Igesund will put him behind striker as that is his best position.

The Togolese midfielder who played for Mamelodi Sundowns told Sport24 it is good to have a team with superstars as that pushes a player to work very hard for the position they want to play in.

“My favourite position is behind the striker so hopefully the coach plays me there tonight,” Wome said.

“It is a good thing for the club, you can see that everyone is a good player and competing for positions forces you to work hard.

''Even though I know that Sundowns is a team of superstars, here everyone is competing for positions, everyone is good.

“Last season it was not that hard to get into the starting line-up but now if I can talk about our strikers we have (Jeremy) Brockie, (Phumelele) Bhengu, (Bradley) Grobler, (Kingston) Nkhatha, we are strong.

United will take on Orlando Pirates in the Absa Premiership clash on Tuesday, August 11 at the Peter Mokaba stadium.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
