Wits reject Chiefs R9m Vilakazi bid

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have seen an offer of around R9 million for striker Sibusiso Vilakazi rejected by Bidvest Wits, according to reports.

Amakhosi have been looking to strengthen their attacking options during the current transfer period and have been heavily linked with a move for the Students' star striker.

However, new Chiefs coach Steve Komphela will seemingly need to break the bank to convince Wits counterpart Gavin Hunt to part with his most prized asset after the Soweto giants had their bid knocked back.

In fact, Chiefs had already tried to pry Vilakazi away from the Bidvest Stadium last year after tabling an offer of R10 million, but even that figure was rebuffed by the Clever Boys.
