Wits lash out at agents

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits CEO, Jose Ferreira, has hit out at agents as players continue to be linked with the Clever Boys.

According to KickOff, Black Leopards midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase and Polokwane City striker Puleng Tlolane are heavily linked with Wits.

"I know that we are fast approaching the silly season and yet again we find ourselves having to deny stories linking us to players,” Ferreira said.

"For the record, Bidvest Wits have not engaged – formally or informally – with Black Leopards or Polokwane City for the services of Ntshangase and Tlolane.”

Ferreira continued by saying that he has had no discussions with any of their agents and does not even know who represent them.

"It is regrettable that we continuously have to come out publicly to deny absurd stories of this nature. The intention can only be to inflate the values of the players at our expense.”

Meanwhile, Wits will host Ajax Cape Town in a midweek Absa Premiership clash at the Bidvest Stadium.

The teams have met once already this season, with the Urban Warriors claiming a 3-1 win in Cape Town back in August.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, December 10.
