Wits coy on new signings

Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt admitted that the Clever Boys have recruited plenty of new faces in the current off-season period but also declined to reveal their identities for the time being.

Hunt, who won the PSL three times with SuperSport United, told Sport24 in an exclusive interview on Sunday that he will unveil his new signings from next week.

“Preparations for the new season are going very well so far,” said Hunt.

“But I am not going to reveal any of their identities for now. But if you give me a call maybe next week I will be able to tell you about them. Now I can’t discuss anything related to that.”

The former Moroka Swallows and Black Leopards mentor guided the Students to a third place finish in the league last season.

Hunt also helped Wits reach the Nedbank Cup final which they lost 3-1 to Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban two months ago.

Wits will begin their season with an MTN8 quarter-final game against Bloemfontein Celtic in the first week of August.
