The 24 year-old is set to return home following AmaZulu's relegation from the South African Premiership.

The former Leopards player is rumoured to be against a move back to his previous employers and leaning towards a move to Mahia with the club's chairman reportedly set to meet Were.

Leopards have reportedly made their intentions clear and will do whatever it takes to land Were's signature.

Leopards assistant secretary Timothy Lilumbi said: "He has been our player and we shall talk to his handlers to see if he can rejoin us. The den is his home."
