We play to win - Pitso

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane assured fans they will not be underestimating Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup final.

The former Bafana Bafana coach expects to face a young Ajax outfit full of energy and determination when the sides do battle at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

The Brazilians are looking for their first cup title since 2008, while the Urban Warriors last won the competition the year before in 2007.

"Ajax have a very good team, young, energetic and we know they are in it to win it, like we are," Mosimane told the Premiership's official website.

"We have a decent team to play football and we play to win."

The Cape side will not have head coach Roger de Sa on the touchline during the game after he was sent off in their final league game against Orlando Pirates, but Mosimane does not think this will have much impact on the result.

"The coach being sent off has nothing to do with the impact on the game," he added.

"Stuart Baxter was out for two games, but Chiefs won both games.

"The team is there, the system is there and they know what to do.

"And now lately people are calling coaches to talk in corridors while the match is on. They speak, they give instructions and phones are there."

Kick-off is at 15:00 on Saturday, May 16.
