Johannesburg - Following an internal disciplinary hearing, Benedict Vilakazi's employment with Mpumalanga Black Aces has been terminated and he is free to rejoin Sundowns at the end of the season, where he was loaned from.
According to a statement on the club's official website, 'Tso' was handed his termination letter on Monday morning, which eminated from a DC heard on 29 March 2011.
He was dismissed based on the following evidence provided during the proceedings.
- Using abusive language towards the match official and bringing the club into disrepute in the game between Aces and Orlando Pirates. The offence resulted in a red card in an evenly contested match which Aces eventually lost.
- Failure to attend to a mandatory Aces social responsibility team event visiting local schools in Emalahleni on 25 February 2011.
- Absent from training on January 31 and February 28. Despite phoning both the coaches, informing them that he would be late, Vilakazi then failed to appear at training on the aforementioned days.
- Reporting late for camp for the Free State Stars match, which was scheduled for 18:00. Vilakazi checked into camp at 22:45 together with a lady.
Vilakazi surprisingly brought in the Aces technical director, Paul Dolezar, as his witness, however the former coach's contributions were all generic and generally had nothing to do with the charges.
