Vermezovic lands in SA

Orlando Pirates’ new head coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, has touched down in South Africa after securing his visa, though is still waiting for his work permit.According to sources, Vermezovic arrived in South Africa on Tuesday.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, it was announced earlier this month that the former Kaizer Chiefs coach was to become the new man at the Buccaneers’ reigns, though his arrival was delayed because of the time it took to secure his South African visa.

Whether Vermezovic can take his place on the Pirates bench for the first time relies on him being granted his work permit, a process that could still take a bit of time.

Pirates administrative manager, Floyd Mbele, could not confirm nor deny that Vermezovic is in South Africa, but Mbele confirmed that the Serbian coach’s work permit hasn’t been finalised yet.

“I’m not in the office yet, so I can't confirm if he is here or not. But nothing has changed with regards to his work permit. We’re still working on it. As you know, these things take time at Home Affairs,” Mbele said.
