The 26-year-old suffered the injury towards the end of October and has finally returned to training after working his way back to fitness.

And Van Heerden is pleased to be back in training as his bids to work his way back into contention by the time the second half of the campaign kicks off in February.

"I am back at training on a full time basis. It feels good to be back and I am looking forward to a great and challenging second half of the PSL," Van Heerden said.

Van Heerden, who joined AmaZulu from Pretoria University in 2008, has represented Bafana Bafana on two occasions.
