According to KickOff, the Buccaneers fans were chanting "Coach must go... coach must go," following their 2-1 defeat against Maritzburg United at the FNB stadium.

However, Vermezovic responded that it is normal for fans to react in such a manner.

"I'm doing my job in my way and if it is not enough, somebody must decide it. But we will see," Vermezovic said.

"It's normal for supporters when the team lose the game that they are not happy. And the first thing in their mind is the coach.

"Always a coach is guilty when things go wrong. When it is good players are the ones."

The defeat leaves Vermezovic’s side in sixth position on the PSL table after 12 games, with the Buccaneers already having suffered four defeats this season.

The Sea Robbers latest setback is a blow to Vermezovic' preparations for Saturday's Soweto Derby.

The FNB Stadium hosts the showdown on December 6 with the match getting underway at 15:30.
