Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic admits his side struggled emotionally in their 1-1 draw against MP Black Aces on Tuesday night.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, the Buccaneers coach said that his players were still affected by the loss to Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend and it showed in their league match at Mbombela stadium.

“It was a very difficult game for us emotionally after the defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend. It was difficult to return players to the team and we tried to do that, but we couldn’t do better than this one point,” said Vermezovic

The coach added that he was surprised by how Aces played and felt a draw was a fair result on the night.

“It was a good game, with both sides playing very organised and with a good tactical approach,” added Vermezovic.

“They (AmaZulu) are a good team and I was surprised by them because this is not the Black Aces that I know from three/four years ago.

“The players have to use a lot of energy to run forward and back, and it is not easy for them because they are tired - they have already played 36 games this season and a lot of our main players are injured.

“But we will get there. We must keep talking and we will get there.”
