The Buccaneers struggled to break through a solid Stars outfit, who seemed to have only one thing on their minds, with a Daine Klate effort in the 72nd minute required to break the deadlock.

Speaking after the match, Vermezovic admitted that it is a challenge to play attacking football against a very defensive team, but that his side had a applied themselves well.

"It's very difficult playing against teams that come into the match to defend all the time," said the Serbian.

"It was a challenge for us to stay disciplined and focused throughout the match. We made a couple of mistakes in defence, but fortunately we were not punished.

"It is part of football that you find teams that play with this kind of strategy. Their goalkeeper was sharp and prevented us from getting our goal earlier," he added.

"It was important that we continued attacking them."
