Cape Town - AmaZulu have terminated the contract of midfielder Ruzaigh Gamildien, club marketing manager Lunga Sokhela has confirmed.
The 25-year-old joined the KwaZulu-Natal outfit from Bloemfontein Celtic in January, putting pen to a two-and-a-half-year contract.
However, the Cape Town-born player's time at the club has been blighted by off-field issues, with Gamildien and Bonginkosi Macala suspended earlier in the season.
It appears that AmaZulu's patience with the midfielder has now run out.
"We have terminated his contract because of his off-field antics. We are where we are due to those problems," Sokhela told Metro FM.
"We signed him outright from Bloemfontein Celtic, not the other way around, so I agree with the chairman and that is the stance the club has taken."
Gamildien began his career at Western Cape club Milano in 2010 before joining Celtic the following year.
