Johannesburg - SuperSport United are set to complete the signings of Danleigh Borman and Mark McCarthy, the younger brother of Orlando Pirates striker, Benni McCarthy.
Borman and McCarthy played together in the United States and it seems that they will be reuniting once again, this time in the colours of Matsatsantsa.
The 27-year-year old Borman, who has played for New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution in the States, will be with Gavin Hunt’s side over the space of the next week alongside McCarthy, who tried out at Bloemfontein Celtic last year.
A source close to the club said, “They’re both on trial at the minute, it looks like it’s going to happen. They’ll be with SuperSport for the space of this week.”
Borman, who can play at both left back and left wing, started his career at Santos before moving over to America in 2004. He has been capped by Bafana Bafana at Under-20 level but has never received a call-up to the senior squad.
