United determined to win

Cape Town - Maritzburg United, now challenging for one of the Premiership’s CAF Champions League spots, are confident about their prospects of securing maximum points when they host Bloemfontein Celtic at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Team of Choice has some healthy momentum in the league at the moment, having recorded victories in their two most recent matches. One of them was the 4-1 drubbing of SuperSport United in Pretoria.

The team’s attacking prowess was also evident during the 3-1 win against Platinum Stars in round eight of the league season. Team spokesman Brian Zuma said that the players were oozing confidence ahead of this week’s clash.

"We are expecting a tough game against Celtic. They have regained their confidence after the last two victories, and they will be looking to continue where they ended," Zuma told the club’s website this week.

"But our boys enjoy playing at home with very good support we enjoy here. We are determined to collect maximum points and maintain our good start to the season," added the Maritzburg United mentor.
