Union to take Nyundu case to PSL tomorrow

Cape Town - Roggert Nyundu has told Sport24 that the South African Football Player’s Union (SAFPU) is set to take his dispute with Polokwane City to the PSL on Thursday.

Nyundu has previously insisted that his contract with Polokwane City was supposed to end last month but the club has claimed that the player is still on their books for another year.

The prolific striker hit the headlines with his goal scoring form for NFD side Black Leopards last season and he told Sport24 that although he has gone through tough times he is finally realising his dream.

“Without god and my family I wouldn’t be where I am today, it is any players dream to perform well enough for your name to grow,” Nyundu said.

“I hope that I can do it again this year but in the PSL this time.”

The 28-year-old is against making a return to Rise and Shine because of the way the club has treated him.

“I’m not gonna hide that I was getting R5000 at Polokwane,” he said referring to his monthly salary.

“At the moment I cannot comment much because I am waiting for the union to resolve this thing with Polokwane.

“They told me that on Thursday they will take it to the PSL,” he confirmed.

If the PSL rules in Nyundu’s favour it would make him a free agent which would mean that he would likely secure a better paying contract at another club, something he surely deserves.
