'Downs to gather PSL points

Cape Town - University of Pretoria will host local rivals Mamelodi Sundowns for an Absa Premiership derby at the Tuks Stadium.

University of Pretoria played out a fourth goalless draw of the season when they held Maritzburg United to a stalemate in their last outing.

The Tshwane side has claimed four points from six home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Polokwane City (away), Bidvest Wits and Chippa United (both home).

AmaTuks are placed 13th on the PSL log with 14 points from as many matches.

Sundowns extended their unbeaten record in the league to 10 matches when they drew 1-1 away to Orlando Pirates in midweek.

The Tshwane side has claimed 12 points from seven away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Maritzburg United (away), Ajax Cape Town and Moroka Swallows (both home).

The Brazilians are placed third on the Premiership log with 24 points from 14 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Tuks and Sundowns have met in four league matches since 2012/13.

The Brazilians boast an unbeaten record, with two wins and two draws from the quartet of matches.

AmaTuks have recorded one draw and one loss from their two home matches against ‘Downs.

Last season the Brazilians completed a league double over their Tshwane rivals, winning 3-1 away and 2-1 at home.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, December 13.
