Johannesburg - Former Bafana Bafana captain Mbulelo Mabizela is poised to be unveiled as a Platinum Stars player before the transfer window closes on Friday.
A reliable source has said that Stars are close to signing the Mamelodi Sundown’ defender after what the informant said was a ‘good meeting’ between the North West-based outfit and the Brazilians this week.
“Platinum Stars have increased their offer and it now appears that both Orlando Pirates and Bloemfontein Celtic have dropped out of the race to sign Mabizela.”
OJ’s agent, Francisco Ferreri of ProSport International, also confirmed that the Tycoons are the only team that has made an official offer to Sundowns for the services of the KwaZulu\Natal-born player.
“All the other teams were waiting for Sundowns to put a price on Mabizela, but Stars have taken the initiative by officially approaching Sundowns with an offer for Mabizela,” he adds.
