Cape Town - After plying his trade as a fan favourite for Orlando Pirates and later Moroka Swallows, Bennett Chenene’s disappointing loan spell at AmaTuks has been bitter pill for the talented winger to swallow.
Chenene was signed by SuperSport United but Gordon Igesund sent him out on loan midway through the 2014/15 PSL season and, by all accounts, it was not the best move he has made in his career.
“It was the worst six months (of my career),” Chenene revealed to Sport24.
“I wasted my time there. I don’t even want to talk about it,” he said with obvious disappointment.
The 31-year-old is at a pivotal moment in his career where he needs to find a club and coach that will put their trust in him.
He mentioned that Clive Barker was the one coach that he enjoyed playing under, while he has a lot of respect for the way Ruud Krol managed to get his team to play.
The man from Sebokeng still believes that he has a good few years left in his legs and, despite his recent difficult circumstances, he is looking positively towards the future.
“I have five years left. I think that I will spend three on the wing and then the last two I will come inside, behind the striker.”
