Tsutsulupa break silence on demotion

Cape Town - Veteran and long-serving Moroka Swallows midfielder, Lefa Tsutsulupa, has broken his silence following the club’s relegation to the National First Division.

“I feel it’s worth apologising to the Swallows family and the nation at large for tarnishing the history and legacy of the team,” Tsutsulupa said.

“Swallows remain one of the biggest teams in this country and this is very bad for the club.”

The Birds were able to avoid automatic relegation from the Absa Premiership and were forced to defend their status in the playoffs, after finishing in 15th position in the league.

They however surrendered their top flight status in the promotional playoff where Jomo Cosmos regained promotion in the end.

“I hope the supporters can forgive us and I hope we get the courage and spirit to fight our way back to the top,” he said.
