Tshabalala hails 'team effort'

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala has dedicated his man of the match award to his team-mates after they maintained their 100 percent start to the season with a 1-0 win over Ajax Cape Town.

Amakhosi have proved invincible so far this term, and captain Tefu Mashamaite kept the good times rolling on Sunday as he scored the only goal of the Cape Town Stadium encounter to make it eight wins from eight in the Premiership.

Speaking after the game the South Africa international, who was employed as a centre-forward against the Urban Warriors, said: "I am happy with the contribution I made to win the match today. The award is a team effort.

"It was tough to play in an unfamiliar role as a striker but I was up for it. I am not really back in full force. It's all work in progress. I have not arrived, I have to work hard. Now I'm just pleased that the team is playing well."

He added: "It is a great moment for the whole team to win all our matches. It doesn't happen all the time. We can't rest on our laurels, we have to continue working hard."
