Cape Town - Pretoria University coach Sammy Troughton has confirmed that goalkeeper Washington Arubi still features prominently in the club's plans for next season.

Arubi is in the last year of his current contract at the club, which he has played for during the last three seasons and there had naturally been tremendous speculation about his future in Pretoria.

"He is staying with us because we are taking up the option on his contract. He has done a very good job for us so we have to keep him," Troughton told KickOff.

During the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Arubi played in 29 league matches and he has played in every match during the current campaign too, which perhaps highlights his importance in this team.
