Tovey hails Cardoso's versatility

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs legend, Neil Tovey, believes Daniel Cardoso's versatility will lead to him becoming a hit with the club's supporters.

Cardoso became one of the Soweto club's biggest catches in their off-season transfer dealings after signing from Free State Stars.

And former Bafana Bafana captain Tovey feels that the defender has all the required qualities to become a Chiefs great.

"It is just a matter of mental strength and how he adapts to the expectations that come with playing for a team of Kaizer Chiefs' caliber," Tovey told KickOff.

"He must make sure that he is on top of his game all the time. His versatility brings a new dimension to the team and he is quite capable of becoming a Chiefs legend one day.

"My message to him is to keep it simple like he did during his time at Free State Stars. He mustn't change the way he plays because he has been brought for a reason to Chiefs. He must just believe in himself and his ability."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
