Cape Town - Eric Tinkler is concerned over the detrimental effects that Orlando Pirates's CAF Confederation Cup campaign might have on their 2015/16 PSL season.
Orlando Pirates were back in training this morning after taking a week off following their impressive 4-1 victory over AS Kaloum last Saturday that saw them advance with a 6-1 aggregate.
Tinkler is clearly intent on giving his players as much rest as possible so as not to hamper the squad’s fitness levels going into next season.
“What becomes very important is the recovery after games and between games – the type of training that they do,” Tinkler told Sport24.
"It is very important otherwise it’s going to affect us next season and that’s where the concern lies currently. So we are looking to strengthen and bolster the team."
Oupa Manyisa, Thabo Matlaba, Patrick Phungawayo and Thamsangqa Gabuza are in Cape Town as Bafana Bafana prepare to play Angola in a friendly on Tuesday but the rest of the Bucs squad resumed training today.
