Pirates are the only South African club left in the continental competitions which has meant that they will train, travel and play games throughout the off season.

Many a Bucs player has come out recently saying that they enjoy working with Tinkler, especially after a number of stars were known to have struggled under Vladimir Vermezovic.

Tinkler spoke to Sport24 and commented on the atmosphere around the club at the moment and took the time to praise his players’ attitude.

“The mood has been very, very good,” the boss said.

“The Boys have been showing great unity, great team spirit, professional attitude and application in training.

“It has obviously not been an easy situation, having to overlap one season with the next.

"With this competition taking place during what should be their off season.

"But they’ve shown a fantastic attitude and I’m proud of them but there is still a lot of work to be done.
