Tinkler rues Bucs' slow start

Cape Town - Eric Tinkler was once again left frustrated by Orlando Pirates' slow start as they had to come from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw against Moroka Swallows on Wednesday.

The Buccaneers found themselves behind shortly before the interval at the Dobsonville Stadium as Siyabonga Nomvethe opened the scoring after 35 minutes, although Lehlohonolo Majoro managed to salvage a point for the Sea Robbers 13 minutes from time.

Tinkler, though, feels if his side had begun the first-half the way they had the second - where they dominated for large portions - then a three-point haul would very much have been in their reach.

"I sound a little bit like a broken record but it's the truth," Tinkler said after the Soweto Derby.

"In the second half we had better movement and managed to get our players out wide, which we lacked in the first half.

"We were playing too narrow in the first half, they put people behind the ball and we struggled to penetrate and got frustrated.

"We talked about it in the dressing room and it got a lot better, but we shouldn't have to.

"We should start every game with the same endeavour to get the three points.

"We showed great spirit to come from a goal down but to a degree we are disappointed, we would have liked three points."
