Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler believes his team reached the CAF Confederation Cup final in an entertaining manner.
According To KickOff, Tinkler feels that the brand of football that the Buccaneers displayed on course to secure a final spot has been a “food advert for football.”
“I think the brand of football has been very good. I don't think people will complain because the games have been entertaining if anything," said Tinkler.
“Good for the fans when we lost 4-1 [against Zamalek in Group B action], not good for us. Good for the fans when Zamalek lost 5-1 and if you look at our results against Al-Ahly and it is 4-3, it is an entertaining game," he says, referring to the semi-final win last weekend.
“And that's good for football when we see goals. If it is a good advert for football in general, I think it is particularly for CAF competition because as South Africans we need to take these competitions a lot more seriously.
"I don't think we do and how do we do that? By producing entertaining football. I think that's how we do it and that will draw the crowds to be more interested in these competitions."
Pirates will face Tunisia's Etoile de Sahel in the two-leg final in November.
