Cape Town - Eric Tinkler is confident of replicating Orlando Pirates' deep continental run in 2013 following Saturday's CAF Confederations Cup success over Uganda Revenue Authority.

The Buccaneers booked their place in the second round after playing out a 2-2 draw against URA in Kampala this weekend to seal a 4-3 aggregate success.

And Tinkler is now targeting a run to the tournament's final, something they achieved in the CAF Champions League two years ago when they went down to Egyptian giants Al-Ahly.

"We want to go as far as possible in the tournament," he told SuperSport TV.

"This is a good draw for us and is good motivation because it keeps us along that road. We shall take each game as it comes."

Pirates will now turn their attentions back to the Premiership, where they will be looking to keep pace with the top two when they host Platinum Stars on Tuesday.
