Tinkler: We were terrible

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has admitted that his side did not live up to expectations following another disappointing loss to Bidvest Wits.

The Buccaneers misery continues in the 2015/16 Absa Premiership campaign after suffering a 1-0 defeat to the Clever Boys at the Orlando Stadium.

Wits broke the deadlock in the 13th minute through Daine Klate following a goalkeeping blunder by Felipe Ovonno.

Tinkler insists that his charges were just unfortunate to concede a silly goal of that stature.

"We were very terrible tonight and we didn't play to our level best," said Tinkler.

"It was also unfortunate to concede a soft goal like that.

"It was just a silly mistake by Ovonno but it happens in football.

"We just have to go back to the drawing board and look forward."

Pirates will be looking to bounce back to their winning ways when they face Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout quarter-final on Saturday, October 24.

Kick off is at 15:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
