Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has praised Mpho Makola's performance against Chippa United after he bagged two sumptuous goals in a 30-minute cameo.
Makola's introduction on the half-hour mark made a notable impact as the midfielder netted Pirates' third with a wonder strike from 25 yards out before adding a second with a curling effort from the edge of the penalty area.
Tinkler was understandably delighted with the substitute's performance, and claimed that the midfielder's two-goal salvo was the result of tactical work in training.
"We sat with Makola, discussing the analysis of his game and we identified that he needed to move the ball quicker and said when he gets into those areas, particularly when he cuts in from the left, he must not be afraid to shoot," Tinkler was quoted as saying by KickOff.
"I'm very happy for him because he played to his strength, and that is his ability to shoot.
"Last season he had a great season, his best season at the club. He scored a lot of goals and created a lot of opportunities."
