Cape Town - Orlando Pirates have been playing non-stop as they are currently participating in the CAF Confederation Cup but the side still managed to have a pre-season, albeit a brief one.
Eric Tinkler told Sport24 that they had a short pre-season to give any chance to players who are not registered in Africa.
"We had a short preseason in Nelspruit," said the Buccaneers coach.
"We were there for about nine days and then we played against Zamalek.
"We also went to Swaziland and this was to give chances to the players who were not playing in Africa to be active and be part of the team.
"We also have been playing friendly games which are keeping the other players fit when the others play in Africa.
"It was a short pre-season but at least we had it, it was important to have that short pre-season.”
Pirates will play arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday, August 1 in the Carling Black Label Cup at FNB Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
