Thanda Royals (Gallo)
Durban - FC Cape Town held Thanda Royal Zulu to a 0-0 draw at the SJ Smith Stadium in Umlazi in a first-leg promotional playoff match on Sunday.

It was an action packed match and the National First Division (NFD) Cape team gave their more illustrious PSL opponents a tough run. Despite all the chances both sides created they did not seem to have their scoring boots on and missed the target on most occasions.

In Welkom at the Griffons RFC Stadium Carara Kicks made better use of their home ground advantage as they beat fellow NFD side Mpumulanga Black Aces 1-0.

The goal was scored by Kingston Nkatha in the 70th minute.

If Kicks hold on to their slender lead in the second leg they will meet either Thanda Royal or FC Cape Town in the final stage of the promotional playoff stage.

FC Cape Town will have home advantage but Thanda have the away-goal rule to their benefit. If the game ends in a 1-1 or 2-2 draw then Thanda will advance to the finals.
