Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise believes that he is over individual awards as he chases the PSL title with the Chloorkop side.

According to KickOff, Modise admits that he has done far better last season than he has performed in the current campaign.

"Honestly, I think last season I did better than this season, but for me individual accolades … I have passed that stage," said Modise.

"I want to win with the team and that is what I'm looking for this season. I just want to go onto the podium and celebrate with the guys.”

Sundowns have a game in hand and narrowed Kaizer Chiefs lead to just 10 points on the Absa Premiership log and Modise has been credited with one of the leadership roles who has helped steered Sundowns season back on course.

"I will continue to be one of the leaders, but we have other leaders out there also. We are lucky to have players like Alje [Schut], and I have learnt a lot playing with him.”

Sundowns next two games will be crucial for the Brazilians.

First up is St Michel United in the second leg of the CAF Champions League on Saturday, February 28.

The two sides meet at the Lucas Moripe Stadium with a kick-off of 19:00.

After the CAF CL tie, Sundowns have a mouth-watering PSL tie against Bidvest Wits - a must win for Pitso Mosimane’s charges if they look to really retain their PSL title.

Kick-off for that encounter is at 19:30 on Tuesday, March 3.
