Teko predicts Tshwane thriller

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise says he is expecting a full-blooded encounter when they take on PSL leaders and bitter Tshwane rivals SuperSport United this weekend.

The Brazilians travel to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday evening for the top of the table clash against Matsatsantsa, and although this match has in the past failed to pull in the crowds, Modise says the traveling contingent can expect a thriller in Johannesburg.

"We all know there won't be much of a crowd, but it's gonna be an intense game," Modise told Football365.co.za.

"SuperSport United are good defensively and they are not the same type of team that used to play route one football. They have players who can play ball and we have players who can play ball too, so it will be an interesting game. We are looking forward to it, because we know we have an opportunity to go top of the log"

However, Modise says he is concerned at the manner in which Downs have conceded goals this season, admitting the leak at the back is beginning to prove problematic.

"It is a problem that we have identified as a team. Most of the goals that we concede are from our own mistakes," he added.

"Not many teams have really created a goal or pass us to score. Look at our last game against Santos, for example. We scored two goals and we let them come back into the game and had to fight very hard to win the game in the end.

"I recall one of their goals was because of miscommunication between our defence and the goalkeeper, that's how it is and we have identified that and we are trying to rectify it at training so we are working hard on that. We concede in almost every game which is disappointing. It is a problem, but like I said we are working on it," Modise concluded.

United are top of the table with 28 points, while the Brazilians are breathing down their necks on 25 points in second spot.

Kick-off for the match has been changed from 20:00 to 18:00.
