Pretoria - Ahead of their tough season opener against Platinum Stars on Saturday, Mamelodi Sundowns playmaker Teko Modise is confident his side will upset the defending champions when they clash in their MTN8 quarter-final.

The 'Navigator' believes that his teammates are up for the tough assignment when they face a new-look Dikwena in their opening match of the winner-take-all R8 million competition.

"It’s a cup game (not a league one)," said Modise

"It can go either way.

"They have beaten us before in the cup.

"But I think we stand a good chance because we haven’t changed our squad that much.

"But we are going to play against a totally new looking team.

"We are confident going into this game and I think we stand a good chance to win the game on Saturday."

The former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United midfielder played an instrumental role in guiding the Brazilians to their first PSL crown for seven years.

Kickoff is at 15:00.
