Teko: Challenge is greater now

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have made some big signings in the off season as Pito Mosimane’s charges aim to compete in Africa and PSL.

Gauteng Sports Star of the Year, Teko Modise, feels that they have added quality to their team and believe despite the pressure they still have the upper hand.

“We know that everyone is going to target us but from where we are sitting we have all the confidence that we can beat everybody,” he tells KickOff.

“We have the upper hand and have shown character when it matters most, and I think this will work for us again this season.”

The Brazilians take on Platinum Stars in the MTN8 quarter-final match on August 2 (Saturday) at the Loftus Versfeld and Modise wants to lift the silverware at the end of the competition.

“People are expecting us to win everything and do well in cup competitions.“

“Expectations have always been there here at Sundowns but the reality is that now that we have won the League, the challenge is greater now.”

“Though I believe that with the quality we have, we will continue doing well and win this (MTN8) cup.”
