According to the club's official website, Amakhosi set all kinds of records this past season, including winning the league with a record number of points (69) and by the biggest ever margin over the runners-up (12 points).

Chiefs had the best defence in the league and it was proven as they completed the Premiership with 19 clean sheets in 30 matches. The Naturena-based side also went on a record of 19 consecutive unbeaten games.

Players, staff, administrators, sponsors and dignitaries all gathered at a prestigious awards ceremony at Vodaworld in Midrand on Wednesday evening, May 20 to celebrate the conclusion of Chiefs’ successful 2014/15 season.

“Tonight has marked the culmination of a remarkable season in the club’s history,” said Chiefs' executive chairperson Kaizer Motaung.

“The way in which we dominated the PSL and the new records set, have made this past season one of the most memorable in our 45 years of existence.

“Kaizer Chiefs aspire to achieve the highest standards and we strive to win every game.

“I feel inspired by the greatness we have demonstrated over the course of the 30-match marathon that is the PSL season and the sprint that is a cup competition.

“Congratulations to everyone who has contributed in achieving this goal.”

Chiefs’ superiority in 2014/15 started with clinching the MTN8 trophy. This demonstrated that the team meant serious business from the beginning of season. The dominance was also acknowledged by the PSL with the Glamour Boys taking home most of the accolades at the end-of-season awards ceremony held on Sunday.

“I have nothing but praise for my players, whose dedication throughout the campaign has deservedly been rewarded by the results we have achieved,” said Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter.

“I always stress that the league title is a must have, while breaking records is a nice to have. Still, these records are proof of how phenomenal we did this season.”
