Tefu wants bragging rights again

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup and Tefu Mashamaite is convinced they can win it back-to-back.

Amakhosi were the first to taste silverware last season, after beating the Buccaneers 1-0 at the FNB Stadium last year.

It was Lehlohonolo Majoro who pounced on Bernard Parker's effort - which rattled the crossbar - and thundered home the only goal of the match.

Mashamaite, who received almost 300 000 votes to play in the derby, is weary of their rivals ability but reckons that defending their crown is an achievable target.

“All we want to do is defend our trophy. The supporters have shown belief in the players and now it's up to us to win the game on Saturday (July 26) and keep the trophy at Chiefs,” said Mashamaite to Soccer Laduma.

“Obviously, it won't be easy if you look at the team that Pirates have.”

“We just have to play as a team and make sure that we don't concede. It won't be easy, but it is doable.”

The Carling Black Label Cup is on July 26 at FNB Stadium from 15:30pm in Johannesburg.

Can Amakhosi defend their title or will the Buccaneers have bragging rights this time around?
