Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs skipper Jimmy Tau admits it is a concern watching SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns dominate the Premier Soccer League.
Suggestions have been made that it has now been turned into a 'Pretoria Soccer League' as SuperSport and Sundowns battle for title honours with three matches to go.
Matsatsantsa have won the last two championships and before that the Brazilians had won it twice in a row.
Tau has issued a clarion call to his Amakhosi team-mates and urged them to compete for top honours once again.
"We find ourselves in a disadvantaged position, because we are playing second fiddle to the Pretoria teams, which is a concern for all the (Soweto) parties concerned. But it is also interesting in a sense that it is not a one-horse race anymore like it used to be," Tau told Football365.co.za.
"It augurs well for football in the country. It is (therefore) important for the current generation of Kaizer Chiefs players to contribute positively to the legacy of this club," the defender added.
"You wouldn't want to be remembered as the generation that failed the club. It is a challenge for us to take this club to greater heights."
