Johannesburg - Swede Roger Palmgren has taken charge of struggling AmaZulu after Manqoba Mngqithi became the first coaching casualty of the PSL season.
Former Sierra Leone and Rwanda coach Palmgren was director of sport at the 79-year-old Durban club and has previous Premiership experience with another KwaZulu-Natal outfit, Thanda Royal Zulu.
Mngqithi paid the price for a poor start with just two draws from five games and a 1-0 home defeat by Moroka Swallows at the weekend proved the final straw for a club hoping to finish among the top four in the 16-team national championship.
