Swallows trio off to China?

Johannesburg - Moroka Swallows trio David Mathebula, Luvhengo Mungomeni and captain Lefa Tsutsulupa could all be playing alongside Didier Drogba next season if Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua are successful in bids for the players.

The Dube Birds' players impressed while on a pre-season tour of China this past week and with coach Gordon Igesund a target for Bafana Bafana following the sacking of Pitso Mosimane, a number of players could exit the club.

The big-spending Chinese outfit also have Nikolas Anelka on their books and recently completed a deal for former Argentina boss Sergio Batista.

Swallows brand manager Siya Sangweni told the Sowetan: "Representatives of Shenhua were impressed by some of our players, they expressed interest in signing them.

"We are waiting for them to come back to us. That's all I can say at this stage.

"I know the Chinese are looking for players, but I have not heard anything at this stage about me also being on their wanted list.

"It will be great for me to further my soccer career abroad, Shenhua are a big club in China. They are trying to recruit top players to join them."
