Swallows in hot water over fans

Johannesburg - Moroka Swallows will face the Premier Soccer League's disciplinary committee on charges of unsporting behaviour by their supporters.

This arose from an incident following the side's 1-0 Nedbank Cup loss to Wits two weeks ago, where Swallows fans insulted match officials after the encounter in Dobsonville.

"Swallows fans verbally abused and insulted the match officials as they were walking into the tunnel as well as their vehicles after the match," the PSL said in a statement on Monday.

The First Division's Witbank Spurs are also charged with not displaying the correct jersey in accordance to the team sheet provided for one of their players in the cup tie against Mpumalanga Black Aces on the same weekend.

"The name and number of the player on Jersey number 24 did not conform to the format approved by the League in Rule 3.4 of the NSL rules," the PSL said.

"In the same game, Jersey number 24 did not comply with the FIFA Equipment Regulations 6.7 and 7.7 in that the name and number were not permanently affixed to the jersey."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
