Swallows coach a happy camper

Johannesburg - Following their impressive 2-0 triumph against Black Leopards, Moroka Swallows head coach Craig Rosslee said he was delighted to see his charges opening their playoffs campaign on a high after enduring a difficult season in the Absa Premiership.

Swallows defeated Leopards in their PSL and NFD relegation/promotion playoffs encounter at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.

Vuyisile Wana was on target on both occasions for the Soweto giants to hand the Dube Birds a deserved win on the night.

The former AmaZulu mentor praised his team for their performance on the night, citing the fact that they were dominant over the Thohoyandou-based outfit from the first whistle to the end.

“The game was very hot and I think it was a very good game of football from both sides,” said Rosslee.

“It was vital for us because we managed to win the match in the end.

“And it was also important that we managed to score goals as well.

“We were playing against a good team but we managed to play good football as a team.

“I was impressed with the boys’ performance and again I am happy with how the game turned out.”

A win for Swallows took them to the summit of the mini-league.

They will face Jomo Cosmos in their next playoffs assignment at Vaal University of Technology Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
