Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Godfrey Sapula is completely puzzled by the faction of fans calling for coach Pitso Mosimane’s sacking.
A section of supporters have relentlessly called for Mosimane’s head, despite the recent upturn in form and results after a poor start to the season and have won their last two outings.
And Sapula believes Mosimane has earned more support after leading the side to the title two seasons ago and a Nedbank Cup triumph last season.
"We must support the coach. Sundowns is obviously is a big club and has big expectations, but before last season he won the League and the Nedbank Cup, so I just feel we need to give more support to the coach," Sapula told KickOff.
"Let's give the coach a chance; it is still early season. Yes, we know Sundowns are a big club and we always expect wins of which we understand and accept that, but the League is marathon and let's not forget that.
"I think the coach and his technical staff have plans on how he wants to win the League and the know-how to get the points."
