SuperSport miss out on Ng'ambi

Cape Town - SuperSport United CEO, Stan Matthews, has confirmed that Platinum Stars turned down a transfer offer for striker Robert Ng'ambi.

Matthews conceded that Dikwena were unwilling to part with their most prize asset, despite the marksman only having a year remaining on his deal with the club.

Speaking with KickOff, Matthews said: "We have spoken to Platinum Stars a few times. Senzo Masingiza was clear that the player was not for sale. They are not going to release him.

"He is a player we would have loved to have from an experience point of view and what he could add maybe to our title challenge."

Matthews also revealed that Bidvest Wits had rejected their offer for defender Siyabonga Nhlapo, while Daniel Cardoso opted to snub Matsatsantsa in favour of joining Kaizer Chiefs.

"There are a few players we had an eye on. We lost out for Daniel Cardoso and Ng'ambi was one of them," the United boss added.

"Nhlapo is another player we really wanted. I think we made a generous offer which was declined."
