Sundowns to keep momentum

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is convinced the international break will not interrupt his side's momentum ahead of a return to Premiership action.

After a poor start to the season, the Brazilians have managed to string together three consecutive wins in all competitions.

Sundowns scored seven goals in the three wins, having marched into the Telkom Knockout quarter-finals after a 2-0 win over Chippa United.

"We know the break is long and it comes at the time when we were starting to click and do well, but I can tell you the break won't disturb us," Mosimane told Soccer Laduma.

"The same happened when we played against Golden Arrows and you saw the results, but the good thing is that this time around, the players who will be on international duties will be back on Thursday and that gives us the chance to prepare for the Polokwane City game (on October 18).

"We just hope there won't be injuries, as last time Anthony Laffor came back injured and it disturbed us. But the break itself won't disturb us."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
