Sundowns dump three players

Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns have released midfielder Koketso Mmotong, attacking midfielder Papi Zothwane and youngster Buhle Mkhwanazi.

Mmotong spent the second-half of last season on loan with Moroka Swallows while Zothwane missed Sundowns’ pre-season trip to Swaziland due to his knee injury and never really had the opportunity to prove himself to the club’s new coach Joahn Neeskens.

Mkhwanazi’s release comes at somewhat of a surprise after he was awarded with the Young Player of the Season award at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

A Soccer-Laduma source close to the Brazilians camp revealed that the Chloorkop-based club are still in two minds over Tshepo Ramokala's future with the club.

Ramokala went on loan to Swallows last season and has been linked with an exit from Chloorkop after not featuring in Sundowns’ pre-season squad.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
