Sundowns: We Pay Fair

accreditation

PSL side, Mamelodi Sundowns, have hit back at reports saying that Black Leopards trio, Rodney Ramagalela, Raymond Monama and Tiyani Mabunda, turned down contracts because of low wages.

The Siya crew confirmed last night that Sundowns had had bids for all three players accepted by Lidoda Duvha, and that the deals could well still go through before the end of the week.

Sundowns’ Legal and Commercial Manager, Yogesh Singh, said in a statement on their official website that “no player at Sundowns is underpaid.”

“We pay fair, market-related salaries, and no player at Sundowns has ever complained about being underpaid. The President has made it clear that we pay competitive salaries, and we do not comment on the salaries of individual players.”

Singh added that they wouldn’t engage in speculation surrounding their possible targets, saying, “When the moment is right, we will make announcements about player acquisitions.

“We want to stress that we do not comment about speculation on player salaries, and that principle remains, and we will not engage in debates on this.”

It is thought that all three transfers are still likely to go through in the near future, with the respective agents of the players, Mike Makaab and Tim Sukazi, set to sit down with the Brazilians’ management.
