Sun has set on Barker's managerial career

Cape Town - Bafana Bafana's AFCON 1996 winning coach, Clive Barker, has revealed to Sport24 that he is unlikely to be head coach at another club again.

Barker stepped down at Mpumalanga Black Aces earlier this year after he felt that he could no longer turn the performances of the side around.

‘The Dog’ plans to stay in the game as a youth coach and scout for Aces but has no further plans to take up a first team coaching role.

“At my age you are glad to see the sun come up every day,” he joked.

“I’m just delighted to still be involved in a game that I am very, very passionate about. It’s still great to be involved with SAFA and with a very good football club with people with ethics.”
