Johannesburg - Less than 24 hours after missing out on the Absa Premiership title, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Hristo Stoitchkov was handed more bad news as he was summoned to appear before the league's disciplinary committee on charges of misconduct.

Stoitchkov will appear before a PSL Disciplinary Committee hearing next Monday at 6pm.

According to a statement from the PSL media office, “Stoitchkov has been charged with misconduct relating to abusive and insulting language hurled at the match commissioner following the Absa Premiership match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows on February 19 at Super Stadium".

The charge sheet further said, “Stoitchkov also slid his finger across his throat in a manner that suggested he wanted to slit the match commissioner’s throat".

This misconduct charge could throw Stoitchkov’s Sundowns future into doubt following reports that he will not be offered a new deal beyond his current contract.
